CLOSING OF BARS URGED O.C. INVERCARGILL, Tuesday. The Presbytery of Southland passed a resolution at a meeting today requesting the Acting-Prime Minister, Mr. Nash, to give serious consideration to the desirability of closing all liquor bars throughout the country on V Day and the day following, "to bring New Zealand into line with other parts of the British Empire and the United States, and to ensure that our day of thanksgiving shall possess dignity and sincerity."
