LABOURER REMANDED
CHARGE OF MURDER O.C. WANGANUI, Tuesday. Appearing on remand in the Magistrate's Court to-day, Jack Burman Barns, labourer, aged 37, charged with the murder of John Sever in Berentson at. Wanganui on April 3, was remanded by Mr. J. H. Salmon, S.M., to appear in Wellington on April 18. Detective-Sergeant Robertson said it was usual in a case of this nature to have the accused person examined by a psychiatrist. By the time the accused appeared in Wellington a date for the hearing in Wanganui might 'be arranged. Mr. R. S. Withers, who appeared for accused, made no objection to the remand.
