CHIEF JUSTICE
MR. JUSTICE BLAIR ACTING P.A. WELLINGTON, this day. During the absence of the Chief Justice, Sir Michael Myers, now in the United States, Mr. Justice Blair, senior puisne judge, is acting as Chief Justice. The Judicature Act provides that during the absence of the Chief Justice the senior judge in New Zealand shall be deemed to be the principal judicial officer, and be authorised to act as. Chief Justice and exercise the duties of that office and all powers which may be lawfully exercised by the Chief Justice.
