NATIONAL SAVINGS

National War Savings investments in the Auckland postal district in the past week amounted to £17,327, which is £1204 in excess of the weekly quota. Authority being granted to carry forward in the new financial year the equivalent of four weeks' quota from the surplus on hand in the year ended March 31, 1945, the present figure thus becomes £81,819. Thirty-five of the fifty-four subcentres succeeded in obtaining their weekly quotas. In the Auckland metropolitan area investments were £11,884, which is £166 under quota. However, with the addition of the four weeks' surplus carried forward, the figure stands at £60,084.
