SALE OF BLOODSTOCK
IRISH LANCER BRINGS 475 GUINEAS p.A. DUNEDIN, Tuesday. One of the largest sales of thoroughbred horses in Otago for many years was held at Waikouaiti racecourse to-day. Chief interest centred in the sale of the stallion Irish Lancer, which changed hands at 475 guineas, the buyer being Mr. J. R. Cochrane, of Gore.. The same purchaser also secured Madam Cherry, a nine-year-old mare with a filly by Salmagundi at foot, at 400 guineas. Other brood mares brought 260 to 12J guineas. A two-year-old gelding by Irish Lancer from Real Glad was sold at 190 guineas. Other lots sold included: B f, 3yrs, by Man's Pal—Paigle. 160 guineas; b f, 3yrs, by Siegfried—Lady Cherry, 140 guineas; br f, 3yrs, by Siegfried—Cheap Money, 125 guineas; b f, 3yrs, by Irish Lancer— Little Duchess, 110 guineas.
