AMPUTEE BOWLERS
OUTDOOR AND INDOOR GAMES A challenge indoor bowling match that has aroused some considerable interest will be played in the patriotic hut, No. 1 Port Depot, Parnell Rise, to-morrow evening when the amputees will meet the disabled trainees. The game has been organised with a view to encouraging the interest in the game amongst the members of the two organisations between which a keen and friendly rivalry exists. Play is scheduled to commence at 8 p.m. sharp, and it is intended to run a short tourney with inexperienced players inter-mixed with the seasoned experts.
The outdoor bowls players are reminded of the next tourney for the Wilson silver buttons, which is to be held on Sunday afternoon next on the green of the Auckland Transport Club, Manukau Road, Epsom, commencing at 2 p.m. sharp. The bowls committee hopes that all who have taken part in any of the previous tourneys, as well as any who have not yet played in a tourney for the buttons, will make a point of being present, not later than 1.30 p.m. so that the draw and other arrangements can be made.
