NEW WAGES SCALE

CONCERN OVER OMISSIONS The wages scale announced by the Arbitration Court was discussed at the conference in Auckland of delegates representing the engineering and related trades' unions, according to a statement made by the president of the. conference, Mr. G. T. Thurston, at the conclusion of this morning's sitting. Mr. Thurston said delegates were concerned on account of the Court omitting to make any reference to new rates for juniors and females, and it was decided that the question should be taken up immediately with the Federation of Labour. The feeling of the meeting was that in the event of the Court failing to rectify the omission the Government should deal with the matter by regulation.
