She is a three-year-old by Quite Sure from Bonnie Rere by Guy Carbine from Amy Audubon, by Great Audubon from Amy Dillon, bv Harold Dillon from Espanita. Bonnie Rere is a half-sister to Pamelus (3.26 2-5), Air Crew (2.18 3-5) and Tussock King. Mosquito is being trained for the New Zealand Trotting Stakes by M. Holmes. CONSISTENT PERFORMER Much interest will be taken in Dundee Sandy's appearance in the Craven Handicap at Addington. Last season, Dundee Sandy scored two firsts, a second, and a third in four starts on Southland tracks. During the past nine months he has raced six times for two wins. His last win was at Forbury on .January 20, when he led all the way to win the Churchill Handicap in 4.31 for the two miles on a slow track. Among the horses he beat were Warform, Loyal Nurse, Navigate, Lucky Loyal and Ingle Belmer. Dundee Sandy is an aged gelding by Grattan Loyal from Cutty Sark, and is owned and trained by B. Rushton at Nightcaps. _____ A SMART JUVENILE Stirling Castle, which finished third in the Timaru Nursery Stakes, is a member of the same family as Mandrake, winner of the Winton Juvenile Stakes. Both are by Dillon Hall. Mandrake's dam is Fortunate, by Wrack from Fortunate Maid, by Adonis from Misfortune. Stirling Castle is from Stirling Lady, by Nelson Adonis from Stirling McKinney, bv Young McKinney from Misfortune. Stirling Lady, dam of Stirling Castle, was a good performer in Southland and Canterbury. She was the only descendant of Nelson Adonis (Nelson Bingen—-Lady Adonis) to race. Stirling Castle is owned by Mr. J. H. Winter, of InvercarKill, who recently sent him to Timaru, to be trained by P. Gallagher. Stirling Castle is a fine type of two-year-old and is expected to run well in the Welcome Handicap to-morrow. SPECTACULAR WIN Jackie Guy made a spectacular winning effort in the Western Trot at Oamaru last Saturday. He was kept in restraint behind the leading bunch until half a mile from home, and was then given his head. He soon ran to the front, and leading into the straight from Dominator and County Clare, drew right away to win easily from County Clare, with Dominator a fair third. Sealand was 10 lengths back. Dominator, Tatsydale, and Quite Evident were slow to leave the mark. INTEGRITY IN FINE FORM The most impressive performance of the day at New Brighton matinee trots last Saturday was registered by Integrity. Driven by his trainer, V. Leemrng, Integrity lost a little ground at the start, but with a mile covered he had caught up his 48 yards handicap, and was going easily on the outside of the field. Once the straight was reached Leeming let him take the lead, and he ran home a ■ comfortable winner from Clockwork, which was the only one to threaten danger over the last furlong. Integrity was privately timed to cover the distance in better than 3.15, which represents a smart effort on a grass track. The Trevor de Oro gelding ranks as one of the- best pacers in commission at present, and he should be at his best for his engagement in the Easter Handicap next Saturday. OWNERS' REMINDERS To-day: Auckland acceptances and final payments for the Great Northern Oaks, Champagne Stakes, St. Leger. Monday.—Avondale nominations.
