BALMORAL SCHOOL
I wholeheartedly object to the changing,, of Balmoral School to "Intermediate." As I have had children attending over a period of 13 years, I would like to say that o%ying to the wonderful work of a most excellent headmaster, the teaching staff and scholars alike have become so endeared to the school that a break for them at this stage of their school life will have a retarding effect. If the school be changed to intermediate, the Education Board is asking us to send our children up to Standard I. to a school where no headmaster is present, as they will not come under the headmaster of the intermediate school. I feel sure a headmaster is very necessary when a child reaches Standard I. Added to this is the fact that they are expected to return to the school when they reach the intermediate class-*-another break—making them feel more like pawns in the game of education than scholars who belong to a school which they and their parents have worked so hard for and of which they may feel justly "proud.
