GREEK CAMPAIGN

LEMNOS CAPTURE NEAR

Rec. 1 p.m. RUGBY, Oct. 20. The liberation of the Greek Island of Lemnos is expected hourly, according to authoritative quarters in Cairo, quoted by an agency here. When this happens all the main Aegean and Dodecanese islands will be free except Rhodes, Crete and Milos. All traffic among these islands has been stopped for several days.

The Germans are withdrawing northwards from the Salonika area, where there are a few tens of thousands of troops now using the Eastern Albania route as the original one through Northern Greece is becoming impracticable.
