FERTILISER SUPPLY

CLEAR STATEMENT WANTED

A decision to draw the attention of the National Council to the necessity for a clear statement on the method of supply of straight or serpentine superphosphate to farmers was reached at a meeting of the Auckland District Council .of Primary Production to-day. Advice was received from the National Council that it had so far not deemed it necessary to relax tne regulation making the use of serpentine superphosphate compulsory in the North Island. The district council further decided that the present system of distributing superphosphate was unsatisfactory in that farmers who desired straight superphosphate were receiving the serpentine product, and vice versa. As farmers were now placing orders for next season, the position under which serpentine and straight superphosphate were to be made available, should, it was considered, be made public at an early date.
