STATE HOUSES IN NORTH

WHANGAREI, Sunday. The Housing Construction Department has plans for the erection of over 200 houses in one area of Whangarei. Many are already constructed and tenanted. In one block 83 houses will be built, contracts having been let for 47, 11 of which are completed and in occupation. The roads in this block have all been formed and metalled, to be sealed when consolidated. Eight houses have just been com pleted and tenanted in Kaikohe, while eight more are being built. Tenders are being called for six more. In Kaitaia negotiations are almost completed for the purchase of additional land for the erection of, 12 more State houses.
