There is £16,709 available. The proposed dividend, of 11/2 per cent requires £8378, leaving £8330 to be carried forward, against £8117 brought in. The only changes of note in the balance-sheet are an increase in the orofifctand loss appropriation account from £8117 to £16,709, and an increase In the bank account f_m £74 to £8618. Shares in subsidiaries at cost' are again shown as £558.714. Assets total £575,568, against £567,024 in~ 1943.
