Lieutenant-Commander H. J. C. George, whose home is at Northcote, is on the headquarters staff of Lord Louis Mountbatten, known throughout India as the "Supremo." An Auckland solicitor before the war, Lieutenant-Commander George was commodore of the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron for some years. He left New Zealand in May, 1940, and joined the Navy in London. After service in the Atlantic he passed through New Zealand in 1942 on his way to Australia to take up an appointment as naval adviser, Combined Operations, South-West Pacific area. On his way out to New Zealand Lieutenant - Commander George married an American girl, who is at present living in Florida.
