CHURCHILL DAY COLLECTION
A great many people will resent Mr. Horace Bull's remarks in connection with the "Churchill" collection clay. By what right cloes he set himself up as judge of the people's conscience? Let me bring the following facts to his notice: (1) The same public is being continually appealed to with monotonous regularity. (2) Many of this public are regularly sending jwcels abroad to husbands, sons or brothers, etc. (3) The wage and salary earner gives 1/6 from every pound everv week for war purposes. (4) Finally, Mr, Churchill's recent apologetic references to Franco (reference which immediately brought criticism in Britain from the Press) may have been a psychological factor adversely affecting the collection. With regard to Mr. Bull's remarks about pyjamas, many mothers and wives, under great disability, are endeavouring to look after the clothing necessities of their menfolk and children. Such interest does not call for an affront. CITIZEN.
