BIBLE SOCIETY'S WORK
To-morrow, the first Sunday in May, is recognised by all churches as Bible Sunday, and in many of them attention will be drawn to the work of the British and Foreign Bible Society in printing and distributing the Scriptures. In 180-1, when the society began its work, the Bible had been translated into only 72 languages. Now the society publishes the Bible in whole or in part in no less than 7-17 languages, and each year circulates from 10,000,000 to 12,000,000 copies. The total circulation is now well over 500,000,000.
