CLUBS AND SOCIETIES
Royal Society of St. George.—A member of the Adult Education scheme, Miss Maisie Smith, gave an address on the American and British film industries at the first meeting of the year. Mrs. P. Heath Freest presided.
Radiant. Health Cluli.—An address on "Introduced Tropical Diseases" was given by Mrs. Frost, who stressed the possibility of the introduction of tropical diseases by returning troops, and the value and necessity of being prepared to deal immediately with any epidemic. The symptoms of malaria, hook-worm, dysentery, and cerebro-spmal meningitis were given, together with the necessary care and attention for each case. The president, Mrs. Brooks, presided.
Women's Ijcagrue.—The .annual meeting of the Women's League, British-Israel World Federation, Auckland branch, was presided over by Mrs. Cranston. The annual report, read by the secretary, Mrs. Swan, stated that parcels had been sent to soldiers overseas. The election of officers resulted as follows:— President, Mrs. Cranston; vice-presi-dents, Mesdames Walker and Haworth; hon. secretary, Mrs. Swan; treasurer, Mrs. Wood; assistanttreasurer, Mrs. Langford.
