PRISONERS SENTENCED

Three prisoners were sentenced by Mr. Justice Fair to-day for offences of breaking and entering. John Clifford Shortcliffe. factory hand, 28 (Mr. Aekins) who had broken and entered a store and stolen whisky, was sentenced to a term of twelve months' imprisonment for reformative purposes. Two Maoris. Hiramai Parangi (21) and Erueti Wihongi (22), who had admitted housebreaking at Pukekohe with intent to commit a crime, were each sentenced to three months' hard labour for an offence in which both were concerned, and Hiramai was given an extra month for a like offence committed by himself.
