TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS
(By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this day. An inquiry whether it was intended in the immediate future to impose further serious restrictions on railway travel throughout the Dominion was made by Mr. Broadfoot (Nat., Waitomo) in an urgent question to the Minister of Railways, Mr. Semple, in the House of Representatives. He asked, if this were so, that sufficient warning be given to the general public to enable those at present away from their homes to return with a minimum of inconvenience.
The Minister said that, although the coal situation was still serious, the Railways Department had not given consideration to any further restrictions, but should the position further deteriorate and warrant such action being taken, due warning of the pending restrictions would be given. •
