VICHY CLAIM
Capture Of French Resistance
Army General Staff
FIGHTING FRENCH DENIAL
Rec. 1.30 p.m.
LONDON, Mar. 15.
Philippe Henriot, Vichy Minister of Propaganda, announced over the Vichy radio that the police had arrested the General Staff of the French Army of Resistance.
"We now possess a vital list of the names of all resistance leaders inside France," he said. "A courier just leaving for London was also arrested. The seized document reveals that the Army of Resistance spent over 150,000,000 francs in prosecuting its war plans. "Evidence has also been collected that the whole secret army has been concentrated in Paris, preparing forthe time when the Germans rush to oppose the invasion. This army was preparing for blood baths, the like of which has never been known in history." Fighting French Headquarters in London formally denied Henriot s claim that the General Staff of the Army of Resistance had been arrested.
