HELP IN THE HOME

A mother's work is the most important in the world. Character in the children in adult life shows her success or failure. Under modern conditions the New Zealand houseWife is overworked and not able to give adequate attention and teaching to her family. Social workers and Government statistics bear this out. Why the steady increase in immorality, in physical and mental hospitals, in murders and suicides, m detention places? I contend that cheap domestic labour, which New Zealand cannot supplv, ought to be introduced. Indentured labour under Government control could be introduced. Why not bring in Chinese and help our Allies to provide food for some of their brave people? After the war many will need help, and we need them as domestic" soldiers. R L.
