Mr. J. A. C. Allum, Mayor of Auckland, left by air this morning fof Wanganui.
Mr. H. G. Didsbury, manager of the Wellington branch of the Standard Insurance Company, Ltd., will retire at the end of the month, after 42 years' service with the company. He will be succeeded by Mr. J. R. Wood.
