TENNIS AT EASTER

TOURNAMENT TO BE HELD

The Auckland Lawn Tennis Association, at a mooting of the executive last evening, deckled to hold an Easier tournament at the Stanley Street grass courts, commencing on Good Friday, April 7. This decision was made following receipt of advice from the Now Zealand Lawn Tennis Association that 11 dozen tennis balls were being forwarded to the Auckland Association as its allocation ot balls which had been set aside lor the national junior championships, and winch had been cancelled. The Stanley Street courts also became available because the Now Zealand University championships, which were to have been held there at Easier, have also been cancelled. The tournament to be held at Easter will bo in three sections, the first being open to all affiliated players, the second only to bard court club members, and the third open to all juniors under IS years at April 7. The association has not held an Easter giviss tournament before. This tournament will allow seniors to compete on grass in open competition fox the first time since January, 10-12. Lntiicb close on April 4.
