MANAWATU TROTS
The Manawatu Trotting Club, which Is offering £1050 in stakes, has decided to proceed with its meeting at Awapuni on April 15. The club was deprived of its permit through the curtailment of racing, and recently was successful in having it restored for this season. PROGRAMME FOR MACEDOINB A southern paper reports that the price paid for Macedoine was £2500, and another states that it was £3000. Of the figure paid, £1000 went to R. E. McLellan for his lease of the mare, which did not expire till May, next year. Macedoine has been resting for a few days, but is to be prepared for racing at Easter. She has been entered for the Riverton and Canterbury meetings, but transport restrictions probably will confine her to the far south fixture. NOT AT MANAWATU The Autumn Handicap winner Battledress returned to Hawera on Monday and will not fulfil his engagement in the King George Handicap at the Manawatu meeting this week. OWNERS' REMINDERS Friday.—Auckland autumn nominations and forfeits for Great Northern Oaks, Champagne Stakes and St. Leger; Auckland trotting nominations.
