OTAGO MEDICAL SCHOOL.

(0.C.) DUNEDIN, this day. At a meeting of the University Council it was decided that no preference in the admission of students to the Medical School in 1945 could be given candidates who had passed the intermediate examination in October, 1943, or the special examinations in February, 1944, but had not gained admission to the school this year. The view of the council was that the preferring of candidates who had come low in the list for one year's examinations to better candidates of the succeeding year could not be justified. It would'be open to candidates who had not been admitted this year to apply for admission in 1945, and either rely on the marks already secured in the intermediate examination or repeat the whole or part of that examination with a view to securing better marks.
