MORE POWER NEEDED

REHABILITATION WORK CASE OF LOCAL COMMITTEES (By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this day. A strong plea for the delegation of more power to local rehabilitation committees was made by Mr. Macfarlane (Govt., Christchurch South) in the House of Representatives yesterday afternoon.

In future, said Mr. Macfarlane, some of the rehabilitation problems would have to be carefully handled, and he felt that if local committees were not given more power when the mass of the men and women returned from war service, there would be a bottleneck in Wellington. Local committees should have more power for the handling of particular cases, and he hoped the Minister of Rehabilitation, Major Skinner, would, give consideration to the problem.
