AUSTRALIAN EXAMPLE

INCREASING PRODUCTION (By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this day. The serious decline in production in New Zealand was stressed by Mr. Murdoch (Nat., Marsden) in the House of Representatives yesterday. The Agricultural Department, he said, had shown lack of activity. Ways and means to get over the difficulty should have been found. It was for New Zealand to find ways and means to increase production.

Irksome restrictions had been abandoned in Australia, and to increase production of food 750 complete milking machines and 600 engines had been released there last January and a similar quantity in February. On account of the rubber position plants could not be doubled up in New Zealand. "If we are to have production we must have rubber," he added.

Australia was to release 15,000 persons permanantly for greater production, said Mr. Murdoch, and 5000 for the mobile pool with a view to increasing food supplies by 25 percent.
