I'LANS FOR THE FUTURE At the annual general meeting of the New Zealand Scottish Territorial Association the following officers and executive were elected:—Patron, Mr. Percy Shaw, president, Mr. W. Marshall; vice-presi-dent, Mr. Jno. McTavish; chairman, Lieutenant-Colonel V. Maxwell; hon. s eL '" retary-treasurer, Mr. Chas. F. Baker; hon. auditor, Air. Jno. McTavish; Wellington representative, Mr. Peter Mackenzie; executive, Major J. Tarlton, Lieutenant Lornie. Lieutenant R. Spiers. Mrs. Bruce, and Messrs. R. Bruce, W. Fulton, J. McLeod and J. Barbour. Lieutenant-Colonel Maxwell, who eft for overseas with the regiment and has now returned to Now Zealand, informed the meeting that, although the regiment had been absorbed into other infantry units, the band was still functioning as a whole and was in great demand at Divisional Headquarters. It was decided to hold a reunion and other social functions in the near future. All past members of the regiment (returned and otherwise) are requested to get into touch as soon as possible with the secretary, Mr. Baker, 3, Ranier Street, Ellerslie, 5.E.6. * * * * GOOD FRIEND PASSES LOSS FOR .NEWMARKET Through the death of Mr. S. Donaldson, Mayor of Newmarket for many years, Diggers old and new. especially those of Newmarket and adjacent districts, have lost a good friend. As patron of the Newmarket Ex-Servicemen's Club Mr. Donaldson at all times lent his willing assistance to further their cause, 'lne constant visits he paid to hospitals and homes of members laid aside through sickness and other disabilities will long be remembered by all. A fitting tribute was paid by members of the Newmarket Club last Friday, ■when the president, Mr. J. F. Guthrie, and the deputy-Mayor, Mr. R. Newport, in short addresses, spoke of Mr. Donaldson's great work amongst ex-ser-vicemen. Members stood in silence whilst a bugler sounded "The Last Post." + + * ♦ GALA DAY PLANS DIGGER CRICKETERS The hon. secretary of the Diggers' Cricket Association, Mr. N. W. Pearson, reminds clubs that the names of the five nominations of players from each club should be in his hands as soon as possible. This is in connecton with a gala day that the Auckland Ex-Servicemen's Cricket Association is sponsoring to take place at Takapuna on Easter Saturday, April S.
