N.Z. MOSQUITO SQUADRON

SECOND VICTORY GAINED N.Z.P.A. Special Correspondent Rec. 1 p.m. LONDON, Feb. 6. The New Zealand Mosquito nightfighter squadron, states an Air Ministry announcement, is in operation. It shot down one of the five enemy aircraft destroyed in last night's raid. It was a Dornier 217 and was hit by a Dutchman and an Englishman, both flight-sergeants. This is the squadron's second success. Recently Flight-Sergeant H. K. Kemp, of Auckland, destroyed a Junkers 188. The squadron is at present commanded by an English wing-commander, and has only 100 New Zealanders in its crews. It is hoped that further details of the squadron's activities will be available shortly.
