DAIRY PRODUCERS' BODY
(0.C.) MORRINSVILLE, this day. Further strong support for the newly-formed Dairy Producers' Association, established last week _at Kereone, was expressed at a meeting held at Kiwitahi last evening when a resolution to form another branch at Kiwitahi was passed unanimously. The meeting was convened by Mr. F. N. Smith and was attended by 34 farmers. Mr. Smith said that most of those present were aware that the Farmers' Union had not in the past been supported by the dairymen. It was fully time for the dairymen to consider whether or not this new association would fit the situation at the present critical stage of organising the primary producers of New Zealand. In seconding the motion to form a branch of the new association, Mr. L. P. Swarbrick said that the farmers were by no means antagonistic to the Farmers' Union, but would never achieve anything by continuing to muddle along as they were at pre; sent. A committee of eight was set up for the Kiwitahi district. Mr. E. Hitchman was elected chairman, and Mr. J. Davison secretary.
