FINGERS CROSSED
STALIN'S SIGN FOR UNITY
Rec. 11.30 a.m. -LONDON, Dec. 10. Marshal Stalin answered Mr. Churchill's V for Victory sign during the toasts at the Teheran Conference by raising his right hand with two fingers crossed and saying: To victory Yes, -but unity is essential first." The Allied statesmen then raised their glasses and drank to this new sign for unity. His sidelight on the recent conferences was related to Reuters Ankara correspondent by the British Ambassador to Turkey, Sir Hughe Knatchbull-Hugesson.
