Sub-Lieutenant Norman E. Pollard, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Pollard, Mount Eden Road, who has been promoted lieutenant. He has seen service round the British islands and in convoys to Russia, and was sent to America to bring a trooplanding craft to the Mediterranean, where he took part in the invasions of Sicily and Italy. He is a wellknown Auckland yachtsman.
