STRAWBERRY PRICES
OVER 10/. FOR A CHIP Prices of over 10/ a chip have been paid for strawberries in Auckland this week. These extraordinary high prices come at a time when the season for the fruit can scarcely be said to have started, there being very few for sale. Sums of from 12/ to 10/, and perhaps more in some cases have been paid for the best specimens. A representative of a large produce marketing firm emphasised this afternoon that the supply had been extremely small. He estimated that it would have been possible for one man to have carried away unaided ail the strawberries he had seen sold
