"TOTALLY INADEQUATE"

MASSAGE ACCOMMODATION

Describing the accommodation given the massage department of the Auckland Hospital in the basement of the children's block as totally inadequate, the chairman, Mr. Allan J. Moody, told the Hospital Board last night that the hospital executive was going into the whoTe question and he hoped to present a report on the matter as soon as the investigation was completed. He was satisfied, he said, that there was 50 per cent too much massage going on at the hospital. Among other matters that were being considered was the appointment of a medical officer to take charge of the department. Mr. R. J. Coates pointed out that 200 cases a day were being dealt with by the department.
