TREATMENT OF T.B.

(0.C.) WHANGAREI, Monday. By five votes to four, the Whangarei Hospital Board to-day rescinded the motion passed at the previous meeting regarding the provision of a specialist service in Northland. The board approved of Dr. C. W. Dixon's tuberculosis specialist service scheme conditionally on any future extension of the scheme not being a further direct charge on the hospital board, but rather on social security in conformity with Government policy. An amendment that the question should be referred to 'the contributing local bodies was defeated.
