NURSES' UNIFORMS

SHORTAGE OF MATERIAL MOVE TO OVERCOME PROBLEM (0.C.) WHANGAREI, this day. Owing to the impossibility of procuring the required number of uniforms, a trainee who was recently appointed to the Whangarei Hospital maternity annexe wrote to the matron regretting her inability to accept the position. The hospital board yesterday received a letter from the director of the Division of Nursing saying that nurses throughout the Dominion were having extreme difficulty in obtaining uniform material, and next year staffs and institutions under the division would be supplied through official channels. The Whangarei board decided to provide materials, which will be charged to annexe trainees.
