STEADY TONE RULING The market was firm and moderately active when the Auckland Stock Exchange resumed operations to-day. Buyers were in at late rates, the absence of any sharp lift suggesting that investors had Deen anticipating the Allied victory in Tunisia. Bank of New Zealand shares were , stronger, bids reaching £2 1/3, 3d above the last sale price. Among overseas .industrials, Australian Iron and Steel prefs., in first dealing this year, sold at £1 11/, compared with £1 8/6 last December. These shares were ex dividend last month.
