NURSES' ANNUAL SERVICE

The reforms in the nursing i system accomplished by Florence Nightingale ■were referred to by Lieutenant-Com-mander E. L. Pennington, of the U.S.N. Chaplains' Corps, when preaching last evening in St. Mary's Cathedral on the occasion of the annual church parade of hospital nurses. The service was conducted by Dean W. Pancourt. As a result of the ceaseless efforts of Florence Nightingale, said Lieutenant-Commander Pennington, the nursing profession had attained the high standard of to-day and had achieved much for the benefit of humanity.
