FATAL ACCIDENTS
A boy was killed on Saturday when the cycle he was riding collided with a motor truck, states a Press Association message from Dunedin. He was:— Kevin William Emmersou, aged 12, of 41, Queen's Drive, Musselburgh. A message from Pukekohe states that a passenger in a motor car which capsized into a creek near Whakatiwai, a, few miles north of Kaiaua, soon 'after six o'clock on Saturday evening, suffered fatal injuries. He was:— Mr. Harry Wilkinson, aged about 65, a farmer, of Orere. Another passenger, Mr. Arthur Knight, of Gray's Road, Otahuhu, suffered lacerations to the head. Mr. William Poster Clifton, a well known Takanini resident, aged 72, collapsed and died at Takanini railway station on Saturday. He had led the pacing mare Bronze Queen to the station for transportation to the trotting meeting at Hamilton. Injured in Collisions A compound fracture of the right leg, concussion and other injuries were received by Mr. James McInally, aged 25, single, a painter, of 2, Pine Street, Balmoral, when the motor cycle he was riding was involved in- collision with a car in Mount Albert Road, Three Kings, on Saturday evening. Mr. Mclnally was admitted to the Auckland Hospital, where his condition to-day was serious.
While a passenger in a car driven by Mr. Trevor Lawson, of Otahuhu, Mr. August Fitzbay, of Lippiatt Road, Otahuhu, suffered severely from shock when the car was involved in a collision with a car driven by Mr. A. S. Buckland, of Hamilton, on the main South Road at Te Rapa last evening. Mr. Fitzbay was admitted to the Waikato Hospital. Another passenger, Mr. Edgar McColl, of Otahuhu, received minor injuries, but returned home after receiving treatment. Both cars were extensively damaged.
