VEGETABLE TRUCKS
LOSS OF LICENSES FEARED "Vegetable growers fear that the licensing authority is trying to put them off the road," said Mr. O. G. Brightwell at a meeting of the Auckland Council of Primary Production this morning. The growers, he said, maintained that it would be a setback to primary production if they were deprived of their licenses. They had to run their lorries late at night and competing commercial carriers could not do the work. Colonel N. P. Adams said there was nothing to show that the licenses were being stopped. The chairman (Mr. R. C. Clark): I think the trend is active that would do away with ancillarj' users. No motion was taken on the matter.
