GRADUATION BALL
FUNCTION AT UNIVERSITY In honour of the graduands of the year a ball was held at the Auckland University College hall after the capping ceremony last night. The decorations were carried out by members of the architectural faculty, and were most original. The centre of the stage was taken up by a figure of a joyfuL graduate celebrating his success. A professorial head* surmounting the college motto hung in the middle of the hall. The guests, including Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Cocker, Professor and Mrs. F. P. Worley, Major Merrill Moore, of the United States forces, the RL Hon. J. G. Coates, were welcomed by the president of the Students' Association, Miss D. J. Morrell, assisted by the vice-president, Mr. A. P. de Lisle, and the chairman of the social committee, Miss J. T. Stallworthy.
