OLD BOYS' SERVICE
MT. ALBERT GRAMMAR SCHOOL Appreciation shown by parents of the work of the association in securing portraits of old boys killed in action and having them hung in a place of honour at the school, was expressed at the Mount Albert Grammar School Old Boys' Association's annual meeting last night by the headmaster of the school, Mr. F. W. Gamble. In the annual report of the president, Mr. D. Sumner, it was stated that the number of old boys who had made the supreme sacrifice now numbered 99. Total casualties were 249. Old boys who had been decorated included one D.5.0., five D.F.C.'s, four D.F.M.'s, two M.C.'s, two D.C.M.'s, one 0.8. E., and 14 mentioned in dispatches. Officers were elected as follows:—Patron, Mr. F. W. Gamble: vice-patron. Mr. VV. Caradus; president. Mr. D. Sumner; vice-presidents, Captain W. M. Tongue, Rev. J. C. Guinness, Messrs. J. Horrocks, P. A. Bellamy, H. T. J. McNeil, VV. M. Lowry. K. A. Preston. Wine-Commander C. W. K. Nlcholls; secretary-treasurer, Mr. N. B. Body; assistant-secretary-treasurer, Mr. G. G. Harvey; committee, Messrs. J. M. Stacpoole. R. N. Brothers, S. E. Andrews. N. P. K. Puriri; auditor, Mr. R. S. Harrop; solicitor, Mr. L. J. H. Wright.
