EX-SOLDIERS' PROPOSALS

» (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Friday. A statement issued by the Dominion headquarters of the Second N.Z.E.F. Association to-night says: "After a two days' conference of the Dominion executive and members of the Second N.Z.E.F. Association, held in Wellington, representative delegates to-night waited on the Prime Minister, Mr. Fraser, and the Minister of Finance, Mr. Nash. Various urgently needed amendments to the Pensions Act and practical suggestions for' carrying into effect the ideals expressed in the Rehabilitation Act were presented. A full discussion followed when the association's proposals and policy were propounded." The Dominion president of the association, Mr. E. L. Thwaites, stated that he felt sure that following the conference many of the anomalies experienced by returned servicemen would be speedily remedied and that the rehabilitation of servicemen would more closely approximate the wishes cf the Cabinet.
