INCREASED ACTIVITY

The work of tne Auckland Provincial Joint Council of the Order of St. John and the New Zealand Red Cross Society had increased in proportion to the activities on the various fronts, said the chairman, Sir Ernest Davis, at the annual meeting last night. The newlyformed Grey Ladies' Unit had undertaken the Red Cross Society's portion of hospital visiting, and had given splendid service. In the Auckland province the total expenditure had been £8363, or about £160 a week. The sum of £3126 was expended in connection with the Evelyn Firth Home, of which £2153 was capital expenditure. Fairview Home accounted for £352, and general administration charges were £1015, representing 12 per cent of the total outlay.
