NATIVE COLLEGE

Please allow me to endorse the sentiment expressed by your correspondent, Mary Miller, with regard to the restoration of St. Stephens College to the Maori boys. I would add a word for the preservation of all the rights granted to the Maori people, especially their right to the ancestral home at Orakei. The outstanding gallantry of our Maori soldiers has been displayed on many occasions in the Middle East campaign, the latest being that of the heroic leaders of Takrouna Height. Surely in view of their great bravery and sacrifice nothing is too good for their people at home—a generous and noble race. F. FURNISS (Mrs.)
