FATAL AIR CRASH
TWO AUCKIvANDERS KIISHSD (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Friday. When an aircraft of the Royal New. Zealand Air Force crashed on a takeoff from a North Island air station this morning two of the occupants lost their lives and two others were injured necessitating their admission to the hospital. The personnel concerned were:— Killed Sergeant William Routledge Nicholls, whose next-of-kin is his mother, Mrs. S. L. Nicholls, Dexter Avenue, Mount Eden, Auckland. Flight-Sergeant Ronald Stanley Triner, next-of-kin his wife, Mrs. S. I. Triner, Mewburn Avenue, Mount Eden, Auckland. Injured Flying-Officer Bryan Cranstone Scott, next-of-kin his mother, Mrs. L. D. K. Scott, Nelson. Flight-Sergeant Robert Edward Carson Black, oiext-of-kin his mother, Mrs. J. Black, of Waharoa Road, Matamata.
Sergeant - Wireless - Gunner , Nicholls was the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. H. Nicholls, of 38, Dexter Avenue, Mount Eden. He was educated at Mount Albert Grammar School and enlisted in 1940. He saw service in the South Pacific area. A brother, Flying-Officer H. Nicholls, is serving with the bomber command In Britain.
