SOLDIER ARTISTS

SUCCESS OF N.Z. TRIO N.Z.E.F. Official War Correspondent JERUSALEM, May 4. To have a picture hung in the Cairo salon is indeed an honour, but to be the only soldier artists to have his work selected for exhibition is the double honour shared by Kenneth Turner, of Auckland, Robin Kay, of Christchurch, and Harold Knight, of Auckland. Under the patronage of King Farouk and officially opened by Prince Mahommed, the Art Society's exhibition is an event of the year, and leading Egyptian, French and Greek professors of art strive to have the work selected for hanging in the Cairo salon. Of the many soldier artists of many countries, the New Zealand trio gained their distinction with three water colours, two pastels and one oil, representing two examples of each artist's work selected by a special committee. .
