NEW R.S.A. EXECUTIVE REHABILITATION PROBLEMS Several questions dealing with rehabilitation came before the first business meeting of the new executive of the Auckland R.S.A. last night. Mr. A. P. Postlewaite, newlyelected president, extended a welcome to new members of the executive, and expressed the hope that the ensuing year would be (?ne of progress for the association in the interests of the returning servicemen and of the old Diggers and their dependents.
The Junior Chamber of Commerce wrote expressing deep interest in the successful rehabilitation of servicemen from the present war, and asking for an outline of the association's policy in the matter, so that the chamber could consider it and give any assistance that lay in its power.
Members expressed gratitude at the interest displayed by the Junior Chamber, and it was decided to suggest that in view of the coming Dominion conference of the R.S.A. in Wellington, where the whole rehabilitation policy would be discussed and finalised, the statement requested could best be supplied then.
Mrs. M. M. Dreaver, M.P. for Waitemata, wrote stating that a rehabilitation committee was to be set up in her electorate, and requesting the association to nominate a member. It was thought that an opportunity was presented for a representative of the Takapuna Returned Services Club to take part in the rehabilitation scheme, and as Mr. Cyril Snedden, a vice-president of the association is also a member of the Takapuna Club his name was forwarded as the R.S.A. representative. Mr. E. J. L. Hogwood submitted a lengthy scheme for scientific rehabilitation based on education, and it was decided to discuss the various proposals at a later date.
