WOMAN SENTENCED

On a charge of being idle and disorderly, with insufficient lawful visible means of support, Nita Aileen Braniff. 24, appeared before Mr. J. H. Luxford, S.M., in the Police Court to-day.

Sub-Inspector Joyce said accused's husband was a member of the New Zealand Forces. Her allotment had been stopped because of her mode of living. Some time ago Mrs. Braniff was sentenced to seven days' imprisonment for failing to report at the venereal disease clinic for treatment. She admitted that she was leading an immoral life. Yesterday, when arrested in a hotel lounge, she was in the company of two men. "In the condition which she is in this woman is a menace to the communitv," added Mr. Joyce. "Braniff, who had nothing to say, was sentenced to three months' im-p-'sonment
