INVASION SOON

BEFORE TUNISIA ENDS

Prediction By United States Publicity Chief N.Z. Press Association. —Copyright Rec. 2.30 WASHINGTON, May 6. The Chief of the United States Office of War Information, Dr. Elmer Davis, told his Press conference in Washington that it is entirely possible that the Allies may invade Europe before the completion of the Tunisia campaign, probably when the enemy has been pocketed off at Bizerta, "which should be accomplished pretty soon," he added.

"There is no question that there will be Allied operations in Continental Europe this summer," declared Dr. Davis. He expressed the opinion that it will be possible to go ahead with invasion plans even though Bizerta remains for a time in Axis hands.
